Advantages of Rihter construction systems

THERMAL INSULATION

toplotna-izolativnost-hise-rihterThe thermal insulation of Rihter construction systems far exceed the statutory heat transfer of external structural components. A sufficient amount of thermal insulation of the house prevents it from cooling during winter and overheating during the summer.

Using wood, which compared to other construction materials (such as concrete, steel and brick) has low heat transfer, and carefully designed and professionally executed details enable construction without heat bridges.

SOUNDPROOFING

Due to its fibre structure, rock wool is a very good soundproofing material. Rock wool in the walls and the ceiling of the house acts as a sound dampener and prevents sound from spreading between the rooms.

FIRE SAFETY

All Rihter construction systems, except for the Natura system, use rock wool as thermal insulation between the load-bearing construction because it ranks as the highest possible class of reaction to fire performance A1, namely a group of completely non-flammable materials. In Optimal, Optimal +, Pasiv, and Pasiv+ systems, rock wool is also used as a facade thermal insulation.

PHASE DELAY

The phase delay of a structure tells us how long heat “travels” from one side of the structure to the other side. The ideal phase delay of a structure is 12 hours.

AIR TIGHTNESS

A well thought out design of the structure is also important to achieve the air tightness of the house. Air tightness in construction systems with an insulation level is ensured on the plane between the installation plane and the load-bearing construction. Ensuring air tightness of the envelope behind the installation plane enables accessing the installations without the hazard of damaging the air-tight envelope. Damaging the envelope results in energy loss, and at the same time enables moisture to enter the structure.

SEISMIC SAFETY

All Rihter construction systems have their load-bearing construction covered on both sides with load-bearing boards on the external as well as internal walls. This heavily increases the seismic stability of the structure. This is especially important in Slovenia, since it is located in an area with seismological risk. If the house is designed well enough, this makes it possible to avoid additional reinforcements in the structure which cause heat bridges.

COMFORT OF LIVING

The way of life and the habits of individuals change with years. The majority of investors want a higher living temperature in the house, but there are exceptions who want the temperature to be lower. It is also important that the temperatures in individual parts of the house do not differ from the set temperature by more than 2.5° C. To ensure a favourable temperature in all corners of the house with minimum costs for active heating and cooling, and with minimum pollution of the environment, the thermal envelope of the house has to be paid careful attention to even as early as during the design stage.
Because of the use of natural materials and high technological excellence, Rihter houses provide a positive living environment. The temperature is constant in all corners of the house, regardless of the outdoor conditions. The drafts on windy days one might be used to in older houses is not possible due to the air tightness of the envelope in Rihter houses.
